5 things: vacation

December 05, 2011

 {one: Indulgingenjoying not one, but two beautiful lattes a day... & having the time to sit and drink them from a proper cup! the fireman took his coffee black (no latte)... but enjoyed it just as much!}

there are a few things that i just LOVE about going on vacation! there is the obvious no-work-thing and the other new-fun-adventure-thing, but when i look forward to a real vaca there are a couple things that go right to the top of my list! and on this trip (you may be surprised, brace yourself) shopping wasn't one of them!!! oh-no people, i wouldn't put the fireman through the current holiday shopping craze. well actually... don't get me wrong, we did stubble into a couple boutiques here and there, but we MOSTLY enjoyed these fabulous five things...

*check out more "five things" here!
**what did you do this (crazy windy) weekend? i heard LA almost blew away while we were gone!

{two: Public Transportation. this is huge for us LA-folk... because when it takes 1 hour to drive 10 miles... you look forward to hopping on a train and letting the conductor to the work! it's a vacation in itself!}

{three: Finding New (fun n' fury) Treasures. rather then buying a coffee mug that said "Chicago" i bought a fun hat that will always remind me of... Chicago! }

{four: The Food. i swear the fireman and i think we are legit food critics! HA! it can get pretty funny with how serious we take this stuff. we just like food! this delish dish is from Yolk, in Chicago.}

{five: Spending Quality Time. the fireman and i always have the best time when it's just the two of us... so needless to say, we had a blast in Chicago and give that city two (frozen) thumbs up!}

how was your wintery weekend??? stay warm? what'd you do?!

Since my bf is shopping averse I too have discovered that some of the best vacations don't involve spending hours in stores. Looks like you had an amazing time in Chicago. I'm seriously thinking of going there just for the amazing restaurants.
