FARMERS MARKET salad!

March 01, 2012

// photo's & recipe by the Fashion Gal //

living in California i feel super lucky to have an abundance of farm fresh food at my fingertips daily! i live in a beach-town that has Farmers Markets in or around my home base almost every day of the week! Manhattan Beach: Tuesday, El Segundo: Wednesday, Redondo Beach: Thursday, Hermosa & Redondo Beach: Friday, Torrance: Saturday, and Palos Verdes: Sunday! phew! so needless to say we have the opportunity to eat pretty damn good!! YUM. so here is a Farmers Market Salad that didn't only look bright n' pretty, but tasted good too!

**a little side note: i've been a vegetarian (actually a pescatarian, that's when you eat fish... but no other meats) for about 18 YEARS now! wow, that's a long time when you really think about it. SO, i have mastered the ART of Salad Making!!! or at least i think so. (wink-wink)

***if you live in the LA area, go here to find a Farmers Market close to you!

**not photographed, but used is crunchy flax seeds.
**fresh basil & arugula mixed together is a dream come true!!!
 **cut up all your fresh finds & TOAST YOUR ALMONDS! ((it really does make a difference))
**my salad dressings don't really have measurements... but i can tell you that when i make a salad with strawberries i like to mix a little raspberry salad dressing in to pick up that sweet fruity flavor.
**for an extra little crunch sprinkle some flax seeds onto your final creation, and................ enjoy!

what's your favorite kind of salad???
