this September is the 20th Anniversary of Grunge. happy anniversary Grunge! the anniversary is marked by the release of Nirvana's Nevermind Album released in September 1991. originally, Grunge was used to describe a type of music (a mix of punk rock & metal) however it soon became a way of life... and even a fashion trend. and like most fashion trends, history repeats itself. this "careless" thrown-together look is definitely back in full effect. from oversized grandpa cardigans to perfectly worn-in combat boots, this cool-semi-sloppy look is still lingering today. and i've got to admit... i like it. don't get me wrong, i think a structured blazer is fabulous, but when you pair it with an oversized shredded tee and a piece of (Courtney Love inspired) costume jewelry... i like even more (!)

*little fun fact: in London they are celebrating Grunge Music for two weeks (this month) and calling this unique event the London Grunge Tribute.
